How do I assign a work schedule to a user?

Assign a work schedule via the Work Schedules or Users menu

Assigning a work schedule is an important step for accurately managing individual working hours. A correct schedule ensures that working hours, overtime, rest periods, and maximum working hours are tracked reliably.

You can assign a work schedule in two ways:

Via the Work Schedules menu

  1. Navigate to Company > Work Schedules in the side menu.
  2. Click the three-dot menu on the desired work schedule and select Edit.
  3. Open the Assigned tab and click Assign user.
  4. Select the desired users. You can search the list or assign the schedule to all users at once.
  5. Click Save.

Tip: The start date of the work schedule defaults to today. You can adjust it in each user's profile.

Via the Users menu

  1. Navigate to Company > Users in the side menu.
  2. Depending on whether the user already has a work schedule assigned, proceed as follows:

    Option A – User already has a work schedule assigned: Open the user's profile and switch to the Employment tab, then continue with the steps below.
    Option B – User does not have a work schedule yet: In the Users overview, click Assign in the Work schedule column of the user's row, then continue with the steps below.
  3. Select the desired work schedule.
  4. Enter the date from which the work schedule should take effect.
  5. Optional: Enter the working time balance as a decimal number (plus or minus hours at the start with TimeTac).
  6. Click Save.

Info: The start date can be on or after the TimeTac start date.
